Monaci delle Terre Nere stands on a 24-hectare estate in Zafferana Etnea, a famous town for honey production, at the foot of Mount Etna. Monaci delle Terre Nere is a Country Boutique Hotel with certification of Eco-Bio structure, surrounded by green nature, among meadows, woods, tree-lined avenues, vineyards and typical landscapes of the Sicilian countryside between Mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea.

This place full of charm and incomparable beauty was chosen many years ago by the monks of the order of S. Anna for its extraordinary characteristics and location, today is a unique country boutique hotel that alternates design details and elements typical of the Sicilian tradition, its 27 rooms and suites are located between the 18th century noble residence and the dependance features.

The 19 Suites, for a stay in the country chic, are located in the main building, others between the outbuildings 300 meters from the main building while others of recent construction are lofts in recently renovated buildings. Most feature a fireplace, views of Mount Etna or the Mediterranean Sea.

8 rooms, on the other hand, all have original features, such as the ceiling with exposed wooden beams and lava stone walls, a perfect combination of ancient tradition and modern design. Some rooms are in a newly built bio-building, others in an old barn recently renovated, others in a typical lava stone building from the 18th century, others in the noble house.

The nineteenth-century noble house hosts the restaurant "Locanda Nerello", which thanks to its organic garden cultivated in Monaci, uses products at km 0, thus offering a tasting menu typical of the Sicilian tradition revisited in a contemporary key. During the summer you can dine on the terrace enjoying the quiet of the surrounding nature. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list including those produced in the estate's vineyard, such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante.

The Convivium Bar, a place where it is possible to meet and socialize with other guests for an aperitif or after dinner, between tradition, taste and innovation, proposes signature cocktails with inebriating flavors and aromas, in perfect Italian style. During the winter, the fireplace heats the environment, making the atmosphere even more pleasant.

The organic breakfast is offered at the old palmento every morning, with a rich buffet: pastries, brioche, cakes and biscuits, bread baked in the stone oven of the estate, homemade jams, ham, Nebrodi salami, Sicilian cheeses, cow, goat and sheep, organic eggs, scrambled and boiled, honey of Zafferana Etnea, vegetables and fruits and vegetables from the garden, and unpasteurized organic juices.

In the park of the estate a few steps from the noble house, the beautiful infinity pool with panoramic sea view, offers moments of relaxation in the shade of ancient cypress trees and fruit trees.

At Monaci delle Terre Nere you can organize various onsite and offsite activities: from wine tasting, oil and typical products, nature walks inside the estate, yoga classes, holistic massages, Sicilian cooking lessons, horse riding, lessons of astronomy, jazz concerts and cinema under the stars during the summer.
