Monaci is a magical property, set in the foothills of Mt Etna and looking towards the sea. The views are extraordinary, the ambiance is restful and tranquil, with lower temperatures than at sea level and cooling breezes. It is a perfect spot to decompress and unplug from the workaday world. Our hosts Guido and Federica are charming and their vision is reflected in every aspect of the estate from the rooms to the dining areas, the pool area, the vineyards and orchards, the food and drink, and on site activities. The staff is universally friendly and helpful, with great team spirit. Be prepared for the occasional lapse in efficiency - this not a type A to the max establishment. We loved our stay and will certainly return.

Even though there was a problem with our reservation (we had reserved a room for 2 adults and 1 child and got a room for 2 people), the problem was solved in a satisfactory manner - the first night we stayed in the "wrong" room and the following day moved into the right room. As compensation, we got a free dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The second room was very good, albeit dark. The pool was nice. The breakfast was okay. My son ate scrambled eggs everyday because they did not have sausages, smoked salmon etc. (and he doesn't eat bread or pastries). Also, they charge for a second cup of American coffee - I am not talking about espresso or capuccino, it is regular coffee (never seen this in other hotels). Dinner at the restaurant was very good. It was fun playing with the owners' dogs. Check-out was efficient. If in the area again, I would stay at the hotel.

Zu allererst ist zu sagen, dass das gesamte Personal extrem nett und zuvorkommend ist, manche auch lustig! Der Zug daneben ist zwar nicht zu sehen, aber stark zu hören. .. Man gewöhnt sich aber scnell daran. War kein wirkliches Problem. Einige Zimmer sind bereits etwas abgewohnt und benötigen kleine Reparaturen. Die Kleinigkeiten machen es aus! Und bitte das Zimmerschloßproblem lösen. Die Sauberkeit war absolut in Ordnung. SOnst... Tolles interessantes Essen. Wenn die Haupt-Karte täglich oder zumindest 2 Mal in der Woche getauscht werden würde, wären wir nicht nur 3 mal essen gegangen, sondern immer. Ist nur ein Anstoss der vielleicht schwer durchführbar ist. Sonst ein toller Urlaub! lgPP
